Didalam pupuh ini terjadi diskusi perbedaan pendapat dari para Dewata mengenai asal-mula seluruh alam. Perbedaan ini sebaiknya dipahami dengan berhati-hati dan dirasakan dengan baik agar dapat mengerti makna dari ‘RESTU (PANGESTU)’ yang sebenarnya

 

In this pupuh there is a discussion of differences of opinion from the Deities regarding the origin of all nature. This difference should be understood carefully and should use a true-senses in order to understand the true meaning of 'RESTU (PANGESTU)' (BLESSING)

Sang Hyang Endra dari tadi mendengarkan/ sudah lega hatinya/ penyelesaiannya ber martabat/ dimengerti dan jelas satu-persatu/ pertanda dari Hyang Widhi/ pertanda dari ilmu pengetahuan//

Sang Hyang Endra has been listening/ and he is relieved/ the solution is dignified/ understood and clear, one by one/ it is a sign from Hyang Widhi/ the sign for knowledge of science//

lagya éca wawan sabda kalih/ kasaru kang rawoh/ Hyang Pramèsthi[1] alon andikané/ hèh yogèngsun paran kang pinanggih/ gonmu gunêm kawis/ putra kalih dhêku//

Sedang enak menikmati pembahasan yang kedua/ terhambat dengan kehadirannya/ Hyang Pramesthi[2] yang berbicara perlahan/ -hèh- semua yang berkumpul/ tempatmu berbicara sudah jelas/ kedua putrapun menunduk// 

Enjoying the second discussion/ hampered by the presence of/ Hyang Pramesth[3]i, who spoke slowly/ -hèh- everyone who’s gathered here/ the position of what you talked about was clear/ both sons lowered their heads//

Sang Hyang Wisnu tumungkul èsmu jrih/ Hyang Éndra turnyalon/ -dhuh- pukulun putranta yêktiné/ yayi Wisnu pinunjul ing bumi/ bawana tan kalih/ mung Bathara Wisnu//

Sang Hyang Wisnu agak takut/ Hyang Endra menyanjung/ -dhuh- paduka putramu yang sebenarnya/ adik Wishnu, sangat menonjol di bumi/ dijagat yang tak ada duanya/ hanya Bathara Wishnu//

Sang Hyang Vishnu is a little scared/ Hyang Endra flatters/ -duh- your honor, your real son/ brother Vishnu's, is very prominent on earth/ in a universe that is second to none/ only Bathara Vishnu//

Memang semua rahasia dari yang telah belajar/ semua akan ikut/ tanda-tanda penciptaan telah dikuasai semuanya/ sikap dan tatacara telah waskita dan direstui/ sudah tidak melenceng/ dalam kenyataannya//

Indeed, all the secrets of those who have learned/ all will follow/ all signs of creation which have been mastered/ attitudes and procedures have been mastered and granted/ nothing has deviated/ in factual//

Adapun mengenai pengetahuan yg lebih/ sayapun kalah/ tidak menyimpang dari asal muasalnya/ semua pengetahuan sudah diberi tanda oleh saksi/ para dewapun sama/ dibawah adik Wishnu//

As for knowledge above our knowledge/ I am in lost/ nothing is differ from the origin/ all knowledge has been marked by the witness/ and by the deity as well/ all under brother, Vishnu's//

putra tuwan tuk nugraha jati/ kawruhé kinaot/ mèngsêm nabda Hyang Guru angawé/ mring Hyang Wisnu sowan manganjali/ hèh Wisnu sirèki/ wus pinasthi lamun//

Putra tuan mendapatkan karunia sejati/ pengetahuan yang tua sekali/ senyum Hyang Guru mengundang/ Hyang Wishnu mendahului untuk menghadap/ -hèh- Wishnu yang kusayangi/ sudah garisnya, namun//

Your son has a true gift/ a knowledge that is very old/ Hyang Guru smiles is inviting/ Hyang Vishnu precedes to the front/ -hèh- Vishnu whom I love/ it is already as it should be, but//

pan rumêksayu isining bumi/ sagung para katong/ kang mbêk murka sirna déning kowé/ nadyan para jawata ing bénjing/ sira kang nulungi/ yèn nêmu pakéwuh//

Sudah kewajibanmu untuk menjaga bumi/ para raja seluruhnya/ yang sedang murka akan sirna karenamu/ meskipun kemudian para dewata/ kamu yang akan menolong/ kalau bertemu pun akan sungkan//

It's your duty to protect the earth/ all the kings/ those who are angry will disappear because of you/ even then the deity/ you who will help/ if they meet you, they will be hesitant//

Nanti semuanya akan mengerti juga/ dengan putraku/ ada dia dan ada saya seperti ini/ maka bergantianlah meminjam nama-nama/ yang menyatu dalam cita-cita/ demikian juga sebutannya//

My name will be -Sang Hyang Sidha Jati[8]-/ because of my name/ which makes character for the truthful nature/ while you change your name to/ Hyang Supadya Jati[9]/ since you already understand//

mring jatining pangupaya yêkti/ si Wisnu naking ngong/ jêjuluka Narayana mangké/ marga sira wus lêpas ing budi/ tan samar sarèhing/ putra kalih nuwun//

Kepada sejatinya yang berupaya dengan benar/ Wishnu anaknya saya/ nantinya akan diberi nama Narayana/ karena telah lepas dari ajaran budi/ tidak samar kesabarannya/ demikian putra kedua berterima kasih//

To those who are trying properly/ Vishnu my son/ later will be named Narayana/ because he has been separated from the teachings of ethics/ his patience is not vague/ so the second son is grateful//

wusnya dhawuh wau Hyang Pramèsthi[10]/ gya mukswa tan katon/ pra jawata gya bubaran kabèh/ Sang Hyang Éndra wus manjing jro puri/ ing kaèndran adi/ Hyang Wisnu wus kondur//

Setelah perkataan tadi Hyang Pramesthi[11]/ segera hilang tak terlihat/ para dewatapun pulang semuanya/ Sang Hyang Endra kembali kedalam istananya/ di dalam areanya/ Hyang Wishnu pun sudah kembali pulang//

After these words, Hyang Pramesthi[12]/ immediately disappeared out of sight/ all the deities returned/ Sang Hyang Endra returned to his palace/ in his area/ Hyang Vishnu also has returned home//

angêdhaton anèng têpêt suci/ alam kang kinaot/ nikmat baé iku salawasé/ sing sapa wruh sandining Hyang Widhi/ sayêkti yèn bangkit/ manggon alam luhung//

Bertempat tinggal di tempat suci/ alam yang sangat tua/ hanya kenikmatan yang ada selamanya/ siapa yang mengetahui sandi (pertandanya) Hyang Widhi/ sesungguhnya bila akan bangkit/ menempati alam luhur//

Living in a holy place/ a very old world/ only enjoyment that lasts forever/ he who knows the password (sign) of Hyang Widhi/ actually when he will rise/ and occupy the sublime realm//

sastra jéndra hayuningrat iki/ atêgês kinaot/ sastra iku têmbung lan swarané/ jén puniku atêgês sawiji/ dra: bawana yêkti/ sumêbar déné yu//

Sastrajendra hayuningrat ini/ tegasnya adalah ilmu yang sangat tua/ sastra itu adalah suara dan kata-kata/ kalau hal itu telah tegas semuanya satu persatu/ maka: buana yang sebenarnya/ yang telah menyebar itu//

This Sastrajendra hayuningrat/ strictly speaking is a very old science (knowledge)/ literature is sound and words/ if it is all confirmed by all of them one by one/ then: the real world/ that has spread//

kaslamêtan rat têgêsirèki/ jagad kang kinaot/ iku glagating kaanan kabèh/ kawitaning kang sahadad-jati[13]/ sanyata sayêkti/ langgêng uripipun//

Keselamatan dunia tegasnya/ alam semesta yang sangat tua/ yang gerak-geriknya seperti berada di hutan belantara semuanya/ kalimat ini tidak di terjemahkan (diragukan keaslian kalimat ini – baca catatan kaki no. 1)/ sebenarnya kenyataannya/ abadi hidupnya//

Strictly, for the sake of the safety of the world/ this universe is very old/ whose movements are like being in the wilderness/ this sentence is not translated (the authenticity of this sentence is doubtful – read footnote no. 1) / in fact the reality/ it is the eternal in life//

têmbung sa-dad[14]- têgêsé kang yêkti/ nuduhkên mrih wêroh/ urip kudu méruhi mring daté/ dad wuntêlak lan dad maha suci/ kaping tri kang suci/ dad kang maha luhur//

Kata -dad[15]- tegasnya dan senyatanya/ menunjukkan untuk mengetahui/ hidup itu harus memahami/ cahaya yang Maha Kuasa dan cahaya yang Maha Suci/ yang ketiga dari cahaya yang suci adalah/ cahaya yang Maha Luhur//

The word -dad[16]- strictly and in fact/ indicates to be able to know/ life should be understood/ the Almighty light and the Most Holy Light/ the third of the sacred Light is/ the Most Sublime//

duk nalika Hyang Éndra nampani/ sasmita kang kaot/ saking Sang Hyang Guru wêwarahé/ kabèh urip yèn wus nguningani/ wahana kang yêkti/ sayêkti rahayu//

Waktu dulu Hyang Endra menerima/ gambaran yang nyata/ dari wejangan Hyang Guru/ semua kehidupan kalau sudah berbunyi/ dalam sarana yang sebenarnya/ maka akan selamat sejahtera//

In the past, when Hyang Endra received/ the real picture/ from Hyang Guru's explanation/ all life when it already sounds/ in the true way/ then it will be safe and prosperous//

ayuningrat slamêt uripnèki/ sabarang kinaot/ sastra cêtha wus kacakup kabèh/ sastra cêtha wus tan mindho kardi/ paham marang gaib/ mardikèngrat luhung//

Sangat indah dan selamat hidupnya/ segala nya yang telah tua/ -Sastra Cetha- sudah tercakup seluruhnya/ -Sastra Cetha- sudah tidak perlu diulang lagi/ memahami hal-hal yang gaib/ merdeka didunia dan luhur//

Very beautiful and safe is in his life/ everything inside this old/ -Sastra Cetha literature- has been completely covered/ -Sastra Cetha literature- no longer needs to be repeated/ to understands things that are unseen/ for freedom in the world and being sublime//

kang mangkana musthikaning janmi/ sarjana kinaot/ wus tan samar marang lêlakoné/ wruh ing osik pangandika yêkti/ nèng rahsa sajati/ têtêpé Hyang Agung//

Yang seperti itulah mustikanya manusia/ telah tamat dan mumpuni sejatinya/ sudah tidak samar kehidupannya/ memahami dan mengucapkan yang benar/ dari rasa sejatinya/ kepada ketetapan Hyang Agung//

That's what human must have/ it is completed and are truly highly capable/ life is not vague anymore/ understand and speak the truth only/ from their true senses/ as per the decree of Hyang Agung//

mula para naréndra sru mingit/ tan kêna kêbrojol/ mung pandhita kang gêntur tapané/ iku lamun antuk sihing Widhi/ nugraha sajati/ iku pasthi mêngku//

Makanya para raja sering menyendiri/ tidak boleh keluar/ hanya pendeta yang kuat meditasinya/ akan mendapat kasihnya Hyang Widhi/ karunia yang sesungguhnya/ pasti akan diperoleh//

That's why the kings are often alone/ cannot go out/ only priests who are strong in meditation/ will get Hyang Widhi's love/ a true gifts/ will definitely be obtained//

lamun datan kanugrahan jati/ tinarimèng Manon/ pan kasiku tuk walak uripé/ mèt kawruhé jawata linuwih/ kang tan madal sumbi/ kanyataanipun//

Walaupun tidak dianugerahkan secara nyata/ tetap diterima dan diketahui/ memang terkena dan akan mendapatkan pesan dalam hidupnya/ untuk mencari pengetahuan para dewa yang sakti/ yang tidak ada didalam aturan/ kenyataannya//

Even though it is not given in a real way (solid)/ still accepted and make known/ indeed it is going to be affected and will received a message in his life/ to seek knowledge of the deities who are sacred/ which is not in any rules/ in reality//

kèh godhané ing saari – ari/ rêncana kang katon/ karya jugar sabarang panggangwé/ pama wiji sinêbar nèng wukir/ lêmah padhas garing/ paran goné thukul//

Akan banyak godaan sehari-harinya/ rencana yang terlihat/ hasil kerja yang tak terlaksana/ ibarat bibir yang disebar di bukit/ tanah cadas, gersang kering/ dimana tempatnya tumbuh//

Daily, there will be many temptations/ plans which are materialized/ the results of work that are not carried out/ like lips spread on a hill/ rocky, dry and arid/ is where the place to grow//

Semua yang telah mati akan hilang tak terjadi/ itu ibaratnya kemanusiaan/ semua manusia harus memperbaiki hidupnya/ dan akan menerima kasihnya Hyang Maha Suci/ dan akan ditunjukkan tempat berkumpulnya/ yaitu yang terkandung di jidatnya//

Everything that has died will disappear, nothing happens/ that is like humanity/ all humans must improve their lives/ and those who will receive the love of the Most Holy/ and will be shown the place of gathering/ and that is contained in his forehead//

mangsa dadak wêruha ing gaib/ rasané tan kraos/ mula babar wêjangan aglahèng/ nganggêp rèmèh tuduhé sang rêsi/ dilalah wus takdir[17]/ wong cilaka muput/

Secara tiba-tiba akan mengetahui gaib/ rasanya tidak terasa/ untuk menjelaskan ajaran yang tua/ menganggap remeh petunjuk sang resi/ padahal sudah menjadi garis hidupnya/ akan menjadi orang yang celaka//

Suddenly they will know the supernatural/ it feels natural/ to explain the old teachings/ and underestimating the instructions of the sage/ even though it has become his life line/ he will become a miserable person//

Lalu Hyang Guru membantah Sang Resi/ Nurada[20] yang sangat tua/ membuka pemahaman gaib yang hebat/ ilmu yang dimiliki Hyang Pramesthi[21] berada sedikit dibawahnya/ kemudian memanggil/ semua anaknya//

Then Hyang Guru denied The Resi/ Nurada[22] who was very old/ and opened a great supernatural understanding/ Hyang Pramesthi's[23] knowledge was slightly below him/ then he called/ all of his children//

myang pra déwa nayaka tan kari/ sadaya wus caos/ Hyang Pramèsthi[24] dhawuh nocokaké/ kabèh kawruh ywa kongsi pradondi/ sangkan parannèki/ cocogna kang rujuk//

Kepada para dewa dan abdi tak ketinggalan/ pernyataan Hyang Pramesthi[25] menjelaskan/ semua pengetahuan jangan dipertentangkan/ asal muasal dan tujuannya/ cocokkan dengan baik//

To all the deities and servants not to be left behind/ Hyang Pramesthi'[26]s statement explains/ all knowledge should not be contradicted/ its origin and purpose/ to be match well//

kang ingaran ngèlmu kang sajati/ ywa nganti tan jumboh/ lah rungokna iki kayaktèné/ ingkang tuwa cahya banjur gêni/ bantala lan angin/ samodra kang kantun//

Yang perlu diingat dalam belajar ilmu sejati/ jangan sampai tidak sesuai/ dengarkanlah kenyataannya/ cahaya yang tuwa dan api/ tanah dan angin/ samudra yang terakhir//

Things to be remember in learning a true knowledge/ don't get it wrong/ listen to the truth/ the old light and fire/ earth and wind/ and at last ocean//

aturira Hyang Kanéka Siwi[27]/ punika tan cocog/ yèn makatên sayêkti badhéné/ mangran dhatêng kaanan kang kèksi/ cilaka yèn manjing/ mring téja kêkuwung //

Ucapan Hyang Kaneka Siwi[28]/ itu tidak cocok/ dan bila seperti itu keinginannya/ pangeran yang datang akan bersifat seperti didalam hutan-belantara/ celaka bila masuk/ pada sinar yang membias//

Hyang Kaneka Siwi[29]'s words/ it doesn't match/ and if that's what he wants/ the prince who comes will be like in the wilderness/ distress if he enters/ in the deflecting light//

Hyang Nurada[33] mêdharkên kang ngèlmi/ pukulun sang kaot/ pan sagunging kaanan yêktiné/ ngèsthi dhatêng kasantosan nênggih/ déné sêksi mursit/ manungsa pukulun//

Hyang Nurada[34] menguraikan ilmunya/ Paduka yang sangat tua/ dan semua hutan-belantara keadaan yang sebenarnya/ datang dengan ke santosaannya/ itulah saksi yang suci/ manusia, Paduka//

Hyang Nurada[35] describes his knowledge/ Your majesty, who is very old/ from all the wilderness of the real situation/ comes with his serenity/ that is the holy witness/ human being, Your majesty//

wit jagadé manungsa puniki/ yêkti datan kaot/ lawan jagad kang dèn ambah kiyé/ mila tuduhipun guru mami/ cahya dèrèng lair/ swara wus kêprungu//

Sejak dunianya manusia ini/ yang sebenarnya belum tua/ dibandingkan dengan dunia yang kau injak ini/ maka itulah menurut petunjuk guru saya/ saat cahaya belum lahir/ suara sudah terdengar//

Since this human world/ which is actually not very old/ compared to this world you stepped on/ so that's according to my teacher's instructions/ when light is not born, yet/ sound has been heard//

That's the bell that has been ringing over and over/ that's the truth/ that voice is actually ‘life itself’/ that bell is actually a spear/ a spear that is faint and sacred/ really beautiful//

Keindahannya itu sesungguhnya keramat/ keramatnya Hyang Manon/ yaitu yang menjadi sandaran/ kenyataannya tanpa rupa dan tanpa warna/ bila bicara diam/ tanpa ucapan, namun//
